Which means that some projects are on hold for a little bit, buuuuuuuuuuuuut...
I finished knitting all the pieces for the Must-Have Cardi Turned Sweater!! I blocked them all, and boy, does blocking do wonderful things >.< They're all flat and fabric-y and nice, yay!
But lo, no pictures :/
HOWEVER I started on the vintage stripe crochet blanket and here's some pix:
This feels so retro, I don't know WHAT to do with myself!
This gave me an idea for hip stripey scarves for Xmas. Crochet has a use!
The blanket is at about twice this width now, so I want you to imaaaaaagine the wonderous colors I've chosen for it. Ehhhhh, actually, I'm sorta, kinda running out of colors, but I still think it can look nice and tacky and oh, so seventies.
And to give you an idea, this blankets height? About 7 feet high. Why do I do these things to myself?
So me and boyfriend Pat will be moving the Chimichanga experience (our band, if you didn't know!) about a mile or two from where we are now.
A quick word about our summer fun band -- we may be having a show at a local Anarchist venue in Tucson on July 7th! Crazy, right?! We need to upload a myspace with our music (we need to record good versions of our songs we have down) and just get some pictures up and see if we're A-OK for those rule-dodging youngsters! Much fun. I've never been in a BAND like this and never played drums in front of an audience, so this is a big thing for me. Pictures of that will be posted when it happens!!
Now, tomorrow, we sign the lease for a year, give them our deposit and pet deposit, and see when we can start moving stuff in. It might not seem like it, but
I'M. SO. EXCITED!!!!!!!!
No joke, I love moving and I love decorating even more. I love putting things on shelves and putting couches in different places and, and, and... OK, I'm all right, but you get the idea. EEEEEEE! I usually wouldn't be so stoked, I guess, but it's in a better neighborhood (not right next to the bum-park (ie, the park that was infested with bums who would lock us in our own front yard (long story) and knock our gate over when it was broken just for fun and try to creepily keep up conversations with us through an open window at 3 a.m. -- while we were sleeping. Also a long story.)). Anyways, it's overall a better place I think. No carpet, which I'm VERY glad for (rental places seem to always have shitty brown shag rug and stains everywhere, aimirite?) and is a cute '50s construction.
I'll show some decorating pictures later.
Oh yeah! KNITTING TOO!
Wish me luck on the house, and, oye, on that blanket that will take me years...

Good luck on your move! I found you on Ravelry(actually you found me). Maybe we can get together sometime for coffee and knits? Give a holler.

Congratulations on the move. In my younger days I moved every year or so and I loved it every time. My favorite apartment, the one I unpacked every single box for, the one the landlady had repainted just for me before I moved in, the one with the picket fence in the front yard (half of an old farmhouse), that one lasted six weeks. The week after I moved in, I met my husband and shacked up with him a month later.
I love my husband but I miss that apartment. :-) | |

I love moving, too. In fact, I was just telling some of my friends this very same thing today, and of course, they were all, "whha?!"

My name is Nicole and I've been knitting since I was 13. I started when I lived in SF, CA, but now I've moved to Tucson, AZ, and the exercise seems asinine at times. We only get about 2 weeks of cold weather, so go figure.
But I stick to it, I'm too passionate about my craft to give up because of some silly thing like weather, school, work... It's all about focus and immersion.
I'm now a junior in college at the University of Arizona and rockin' it fuckin' old school. Yuhhh!!
It's all that matters.
